The world's most beautiful bird

In my quest for photographing Costa Rican wildlife, the Resplendent Quetzal was near the top of my bucket list. This gorgeous bird was found at 7,000 feet in the cloud forest in San Gerardo de Dota. The tail feathers of the male may reach lengths of 30 inches. The ancient Mayans considered these tail feathers more valuable than gold.
